Describe your music in 5 words or less.
Honest, melodic, heartfelt, deliberate, shred
Have you girls always played music together? How did The Summer Twins come to be?
Yeah, when we were about 13 and 14 we got into bands like The Ramones and The Donnas and we really wanted to start our own band, so we did! Our parents got Justine this scrappy drum set, my dad taught me a few power chords on the guitar, and our friend Mia played bass. We learned by playing covers and then started writing our own songs and played a lot of gigs. When we outgrew that, I kept writing and that eventually became Summer Twins around 2008. We always had a rotating lineup of friends in our band, and have evolved so much over the years. Right now we have a solid lineup with Michael Rey on bass and Andy Moran on guitar.
Must have items on tour?
Headphones, sleeping bag, and a notebook/sketchbook. One of the best parts about tour is living without all the things you think you need!
What music influenced you both growing up?
We were (and still are) influenced by The Kinks, The Beatles, Weezer, The Cardigans, The Donnas, Buddy Holly and The Buzzcocks to name a few.

Words to live by?
Believe in yourself. If you don't, why should anyone else?
What's on your current playlist?
We've been listening to some more recent bands like Rogue Wave, Ben Kweller, Little Joy and Winter, and lots of older music like Ben E. King, Ricky Nelson, Barbara Lynn, Dionne Warwick, Francois Hardy, Harry Nilsson, Astrud Gilberto, and always The Kinks.
What's next for you?
In between working our jobs and managing our band, we're working on expanding our online store, designing new merch, making some more music videos, and most importantly writing our next album!
