Famous September Birthdays: A Celebration of Our Icons

It’s officially September and that means it’s Virgo and Libra season.  This month we’re celebrating some major icons. From our favorite childhood punk rock princess to the ultimate country darling to a rock n' roll cherry bomb, the list goes on.  Check below to see our favorite September birthday gals!

Zendaya. September 1, 1996.

Happy birthday month to the beautiful Zendaya.  The actor, activist, and role model is so unapologetically herself, giving us every reason to love her!

Salma Hayek. September 2, 1966.

Getting her breakthrough role in Desperado and another as Frida Kahlo in 2002, Salma landed the cover of Vogue and became a Mexican American actress and producer to watch out for. She’s now uses her voice to bring awareness for battered women and disadvantaged children on the streets of Mexico. <3

Beyonce. September 4, 1981.

There’s nothing Queen B does that isn’t over the top iconic and goes viral within seconds.  A musician, business mogul, feminist, and mother, she is one of the most influential women of our time.  But we already knew that.

 Rose McGown. September 5, 1973.

Serving the best ‘90s and ‘00s looks, Rose managed to pull off every outfit, becoming the queen of ’90s teen movies and our favorite psycho school girl.

Patsy Cline. September 8, 1932.

When in doubt, put on a Patsy Cline record for the ultimate feel good mood.  Setting the bar so high, she's hands down the best and most loved country darling of all time.

Joan Jett. September 22, 1958.

Defining a new kind of rock star, Joan Jett became the fashion, feminist, and rock icon that the world will forever be obsessed with.  We adore everything about this ch ch ch cherry bomb!

Olivia Newton-John. September 26, 1948.

We can all thank Olivia Newton-John, aka Sandy for the most iconic retro looks from the cult musical “Grease.” No one can pull off skin-tight pants and a moto jacket better than this babe.

Avril Lavigne. September 27, 1984.

From her sk8er boi looks and zip up hoodies to her arm warmers, plaid ties, camo, and high-tops, she created 2000’s looks that, let’s face it, we all went running to Hot Topic for.  Thank you Avril for some of our favorite teenage girl anthems.
