Music Mondays: Outside Lands Prep

San Francisco's best weekend of the year, Outside Lands, is only a few days away, and we are beyond psyched to dance in dreamy Golden Gate Park. Here are some of the artists we are most excited for and a playlist to get you hyped.

Little Dragon

Hailing all of the way from Gothenberg, Sweden, Little Dragon is the perfect mix of dream pop and R&B.  Lead singer Yukimi Nagano is notorious for throwing tantrums while recording, which is how the band got their name Little Dragon. The group has collaborated on recordings with Gorillaz, SBTRKT, Big Boi and more, and we can't wait to groove to their Prince inspired vocals.

Gorillaz

Known as the first "virtual hip hop" band, 00's nostalgia has already set in when we think about seeing the Gorillaz, and we're psyched. Their latest album "Humanz" features collabs with legends like Grace Jones, Vince Staples, and Danny Brown, and we highly suggest it.

Kali Uchis

We can't wait to witness the Columbian princess, Kali Uchis, and her fiery stage presence. Known as the pop soul queen, we can't get enough of her album Por Vida and on point style.

A Tribe Called Quest

90's nostalgia is kicking in, and we're screaming in excitement for our hip hop kings, A Tribe Called Quest. Known as the most intelligent and artistic hip hop group of the 90's, the group recently made a comeback with their album We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service, and they haven't aged a wink.

Solange

Solange Knowles (yes in Beyonce Knowles sister) reincarnates 1960's soul with a modern twist. With empowering lyrics, we can't wait to see his gorgeous spirit light up the stage.

Temples

British neo-psychedelic band, Temples, make trippy psychedelic pop that combines experimental sounds, reminiscent of The Byrds and The Beatles. With killer visuals and vocals on stage, we can't wait to see what they bring to Outside Lands.

KAYTRANADA

We can't get enough of the jazzy electronic hip hop beats made by producer and DJ, Kaytranada. 99.9% (his proper debut album) features appearances from Phonte, Little Dragon, and Anderson Paak, and it's next level.

Warpaint

Our LA babes, Warpaint, are the perfect mix of dreamy and haunting, with vocals like angels. Their new album, Heads Up, features disco touches, and was inspired by a diverse mix of acts like Kendrick Lamar, Janet Jackson, Bjork, and OutKast. These ladies never disappoint on stage and we can't wait to see their set.
